Is it worth Starting a Coaching Business in 2025?
The landscape of coaching has changed. Starting an online coaching business in 2025 can still be a worthwhile endeavor, but tactics and strategies of SEO, organic growth has shifted significantly, especially since AI has reshaped how people search for and consume information.
Don’t scream … don’t panic 🥺
Here’s a breakdown of how to grow organically and whether it’s still a good time to start a coaching business.
Is it still worth starting a coaching business in 2025?
It is absolutely is, but the dynamic of lead generation of growing your coaching business organically has changed, and we need to adapt or we’re heading for a big stumble, here’s why:
Online demand for coaching programs remains high:
- People need mentorship and are still looking for “solution” based services.
- They are purchasing your proven “system”. “How to start/do anything” is still a dominating long form keyword phrase – which should be tailored to your solution (SEO isn’t completely dead, just being used differently.)
- Demand remains high for mentorship in areas like: mindset, marketing, operations and overall entrepreneurship
Personal Connection / Collaboration / Group Synergy:
- AI is awesome and a powerhouse for sharing information. It’s still evolving! There’s opportunity for you to apply the missing “human elements” of collaboration, group or 1-on-1 synergy and accountability into your services which further personal connection and nurturing.

Niche Based Coaching is paramount:
- You need to get “Hyper-specific” on who you serve and your focus and offerings
- example: Graphic designer to UX Customer Expert – are still highly sought after even with the booming designs being binged in AI design.
Embrace Multiple Platforms:
- Traditional SEO (blog posts → traffic → leads) has diminished in impact due to:
- AI-generated summaries in Google Search (like AI Overviews …)
- Above, I mentioned that “SEO isnt’ completely dead …”, which is true. It has however changed, and that’s why we need to adapt to strategies that work.
- The old model of organic SEO, on generic content no longer works. What is working is applying your content to multiple platforms (social media) with a “community first” strategy.
- Rise of platforms like LinkedIn, YouTube & TikTok
In summary – I believe that coaching businesses still have a tremendous amount of opportunity to grow and continue to scale as they niche down and support their audience base. Positioning, relevance & active participation (create your own stage) in 2025 is still paramount and we need to ensure that we continue to offer value, with adaptive strategies to connect with the right audience so we continue to grow.
