If you find yourself daydreaming at your desk, wondering what it would be like to be your own boss, you’re not alone. Many everyday people crave more freedom, flexibility, and fulfillment.
But the big question remains ….
The Desire for Freedom Is a Signal
Wanting more time, control, or purpose isn’t a fantasy—it’s your inner compass pointing toward something better. Whether you’re looking for a side hustle that allows you to supplement your income and tap into your hidden talents or you want to make the leap entrepreneurship full time. It’s not about quitting your job tomorrow; it’s about exploring what’s possible.
The First Step Isn’t What You Think
Most people think the first step to getting started is building a website, buying or making a logo, or making a business plan.
But it’s not.
It’s about clarity: Gain insight to what is possible by thinking it through. Identifying “what can I offer” that solves a problem for someone else?
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had my clients “pause” so that they can actually narrow down what it is they truly want to offer as a service. This one task is more than trying to figure out colors, and your ‘actual’ online mission.
When you don’t have services that align to a ‘need’, you’ll most likely have to ‘over promise’ to make a sale, while you “figure things out” along the way. Which can painfully destroy your credibility before you even really get started. That’s why it’s important to put the work in – defining your services.
Think about it … How many times have you purchased something to be disappointed 😤afterwards. Or, worse – have someone try to ‘convince’ you that ‘nothings missing’. It’s like going to a restaurant and ordering ‘steak and salad’ and only getting the salad 🥗.

Take the guess work out of starting your online business, and making it profitable by incorporating services that are useful and in demand.
When you start with “identifying services”, you’ll make a seamless connection to :
Offering: Every successful online business does 1 thing really well … they provide a service(s) that help their client(s) do ‘something’ or have a desired end result. If we rush through this stage of the start up process – we will get it wrong, that’s why we do a deep dive to ensure that we are offering something that is needed and in demand.
Solution: An end result that someone will pay for. In this case I’ll use the examples of, completing a task, providing access to a skill, creating a digital element or taking ownership of a process.
At the very least – start with one service that’s truly in demand and expand as you gain traction online.
Remember: It doesn’t matter how many ‘other people’ are offering this service. They aren’t you. Your ‘job’ is to offer this service with clean delivery. That’s it. Your unique way of operating, personality, cultural connection and style will attract “your” audience.
You have skills, experience and talent that are valuable. Turn them into a service(s) and get them working for you!
